As of last night, both Chicago teams have made it to the post-season as wild cards. The Cubs and Sox both got to 2nd place in their divisions with just enough of a lead over the 3rd place teams to sneak into the wild card race. So while the White Sox and Cubs were fighting for second place, the entire AL West are below .500, meaning we will have a division winner this year with a losing record.

I released a version of the Inner Drive Journal (the software running The Daily Parker) on Wednesday evening and immediately found some usability issues that I spent yesterday fixing. As I'm not in the habit of releasing software right before going to bed, for the same reason I try not to release software at 5pm on a Friday before leaving the country, I pushed the bits this morning.

Yesterday's Daily Parker release (really the Inner Drive Journal) of course had a couple of bugs, which I am now fixing. Since I 100% dogfood this application, it really doesn't take long to find usability issues. Last night I found six, one of which took under a minute to fix (two lines of code had to move). I also decided to add a couple of small features, not because of usability bugs per se, but because they're not hard to add and they would really enhance the app. So look for a new release tomorrow...

The Daily Parker's underlying software, the Inner Drive Journal, just got a new release that adds two entire epics to the application. First, I've integrated the Journal with the Weather Now gazetteer and Azure Maps to speed up geolocating the various event types in the system. That was also the prerequisite to adding a travel log feature, to keep track of, well, travel.
