Privacy
This privacy policy is current as of 10 February 2026. It applies to all users of The Daily Parker (the "Site") and to all information collected by the Site, whether through your use of the Site or otherwise. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Personal information
We do not retain any personal information about anonymous (unauthenticated) visitors.
If you choose to set up a profile by registering with your Microsoft or Google ID, we will receive the following information from your outside account:
- Your first and last name; and
- Your account ID (i.e, your email address).
We access this information at the moment you log in for the first time, and we store it in our database. We do not request, nor do we have access to, any other information from your account.
We only use this information to create your profile on the Site, and to personalize your experience. Only site administrators have access to this information, and we do not share it with any third parties, unless compelled by a valid court order or subpoena. We do not use this information for any marketing purposes, and we do not sell it to any third parties. Under very limited circumstances, we may use your account ID to get in touch with you if we notice a problem with your account or have another administrative concern that can only be addressed by contacting you directly.
After registering, you may choose to provide additional information, which will be stored in your profile:
- A default location to geocode any contributions you make to the site;
- Your local time zone;
- Your preferences for date and time display; and
- Your preferred first day of the week.
You are not required to provide this information, and you can change it at any time by editing your profile.
The information you provide will be stored securely on Microsoft-owned computers located in the United States.
Information you choose to share
As one of the purposes of The Daily Parker is to allow you to share information with others, any information you share will be visible to other users of the Site. For example, if you choose to share a journal entry with other users, that entry will be visible to those users. If you choose to share a journal entry with the public, that entry will be visible to anyone who visits the Site. The Inner Drive Journal—the software that powers the Site—allows you to set granular permissions on each journal entry, so you can choose exactly who can see it. More information about sharing and permissions will be provided to you if you are interested in becoming a contributor.
