The only thing that most people might care about is a little checkbox on the Search page that will show the exact date of what you find rather than just the time frame. So the next release, not this one, will have an integration feature I've wanted for bloody ages.

- Today is the 80th anniversary of Southdale Mall, the country's first all-enclosed shopping center. It's also the 155th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire. The fire was probably worse, but the jury's still out.
- Google Maps has aggregated all our data to find out what our favorite food is, by city.
- Author John Scalzi's colon is clean, which he will tell you about in great detail if you click that link. (Go on, do it. You're curious now.)
- Chicago White Sox owner Justin Ishbia's team went before the City Council yesterday to answer questions about Amtrak's plans to move its 14th Street facilites to 35th Street. Note that this plan has been in the works for 10 years or so, and yet the City Council has just decided to ask these questions now.
Speaking of the White Sox, I will be at tonight's game against the Cleveland Guardians which could send the Sox to the American League Championship Series. Or not. The Guardians beat the Sox 9-3 yesterday. I hope the Sox win, but if not, they can try again tomorrow.
