Welcome to stop #139 on the Brews and Choos project.

Train line: Amtrak, Milwaukee Intermodal Station
Time from Chicago: 89 minutes
Distance from station: 1.6 km

Indeed Brewing

My Brews & Choos buddy and I really liked this brewery, so much that we missed our Hiawatha back to Chicago. (Don't worry, the Empire Builder was running nearly 5 hours late, so the nice lady at Milwaukee Intermodal got us on that one just 15 minutes after our Hiawatha left the station without us.)

Indeed Brewing

We tried exactly two beers once, and, sad to admit, two other beers about four times each. But we had a great experience in a quirky place with good beer, so, nu? Where's the harm? Other than the missed train, I mean?

We both tried the Flavorwave IPA (6.2%, 73 IBU), a nicely-hopped, Citra-forward IPA with a great finish, and the Rye IPA (7.0%), about which my notes say "Oh, that's nice - crisp and balanced." Those turned out to be the ones we stuck with during our visit. My buddy had the Cactus Fruit fruited kettle sour (6.7%) and said: "light, refreshing, you would hate it." I tried something she didn't like, just to keep things even: the Lovely Day Dry Irish Stout (4.7%), which had an even bitterness with coffee (decaf?) and smoky flavors to balance it out.

Indeed Brewing

I'm sad to learn that Indeed comes originally from Minneapolis, only because that's quite a distance from Chicago by train. It's also nowhere near a train, not even a light rail. Fortunately they've got a Milwaukee taproom. We'll be back someday.
